Dana Davis
Co-Founder & President
Dana Davis is the Founder and President of Star Support Solutions, bringing more than two decades of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Her passion for this work began shortly after graduating from Hahnville High School in Louisiana, when she began her career with The Arc of St. Charles.
Dana initially worked alongside a job coach, helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop employment skills and successfully navigate the workplace. Within six months, her dedication and leadership abilities led to her promotion to Job Coaching Supervisor. In this role, she supported individuals with time-card management, payroll, equipment use, workplace safety, and other skills necessary to promote independence and success.

After five years with The Arc, Dana pursued a career as a Deputy Sheriff in a local correctional facility. Although she valued the experience and skills gained during her four years of service, Dana realized that she was not fulfilling the purpose she felt called to pursue. She made the decision to leave law enforcement and return to the field of disability services.
That decision confirmed what Dana already knew—supporting individuals with disabilities was more than a career; it was her purpose.

In 2010, Dana relocated to California and continued building her career in the developmental disability field. Throughout her professional journey, she has gained experience across a wide range of service settings, including day programs, community-based instruction, residential services, group homes, behavioral intervention, and both public and private school classrooms serving individuals with disabilities. She also earned a Life Quality Coach certificate and became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), further strengthening her knowledge of person-centered support and positive behavioral approaches.

Dana's professional philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to be heard, respected, supported, and included in their community. She believes that behavior is a form of communication and that effective services should focus on understanding the person, identifying their needs, building on their strengths, and creating opportunities for meaningful independence.

In 2012, Dana met her husband and business partner, Wendell Starling, while working in the field. Their shared passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and their families eventually led them to create Star Developmental Services.

Together, they recognized the need for services that not only support individuals but also provide families with meaningful resources, relief, and opportunities for greater quality of life.

Today, Dana serves as the Founder and President of Star Support Solutions, where she continues to build on her years of experience by developing services designed to promote independence, community inclusion, personal growth, and meaningful relationships. Dana is committed to creating an organization where individuals are not defined by their disability, but recognized for their abilities, preferences, strengths, and potential.

Her vision for Star Support Solutions is simple:
Supporting Independence. Building Pathways. Creating Possibilities.
